That does sound weird. But I guess it's usuable as long as you don't go
wild with all that (La)TeX can do. I'm not too fond of LyX but it may be
the best thing out there, currently. What I had set my hopes on a while
ago was conglomerate, but that won't be ready anytime soon. Then there's
the very limited docbook support offered by AbiWord, but I don't think
it's ready for prime time by a long shot.
