Good. :)
| Yes, I created the database with datagard (no errors during creations, as long | as I can remember). The midgard database appears to be empty when examined | with the MySQL client or phpMyAdmin. Should it contains any table/data | (before running the "import" command from datagard)?
Yes, after installation, there should be tables in it (like article, topic, snippet, etc.). Yes, the tables must be inside the db before running import with datagard.
| I looked at /etc/midgard/repligard.conf both before and after the error and it | says that Datagard is trying to connect to the DB using the right | "midgard/midgard/midgard" sequence of database/username/password. Everything | looks fine here (and the connection works fine when I use the MySQL client | with these parameters).
So it shouldn't be the MySQL end that is lacking but the Midgard end - the error message is basically saying that there's no user with the username/password defined in <login /> in repligard.conf.
Try to import the SG0 administrator account with the following command:
repligard -c /etc/midgard/repligard.conf -a -i /usr/local/share/midgard/admin_user.xml
(everything on one line, the path's may vary!)
| Just out of curiosity: | - does midgard write its errors to any particular log file? Inside my /var/log | directory I just found the usual apache2 error.log that does not contain | anything really useful (see below for its content).
You can enable Midgard logging by placing the following to the Midgard VHost configuration:
MidgardLog Debug+ /var/log/midgard.log
| - midgard and apache2 have to use the same TCP Port? Or have they to use two | different ports (80 and 8001, for example)?
Midgard is an Apache module. So you must make the Apache to Listen to each port where you want to run Midgard. Midgard will steal the reguest from Apache if the Vhost configuration and host-table in the Midgard db match with the reguest.
| Do you think I should re-try the Midgard installation from scratch? Is there | any need to remove the existing installation before re-installing midgard with | apt-get? Do I have to re-install midgard in any special way?
Don't re-install yet. So far we haven't seen a definitive installation problem.
| Thanks again.
Cheers!
