Hi Tony, That tutorial is based on some earlier nutch version. Please follow http://wiki.apache.org/nutch/RunNutchInEclipse#Checkout_Nutch_in_Eclipse. There has been recent changes to that wiki page and those new steps would take care of getting automation.jar and etc dependencies in place.
