It’s unfortunate that there are no publications on Shiro because I believe that it is a pretty solid framework and offers tools the leading frameworks do not. From a configuration stand point, though I struggled a bit, it seems like it’s easy to get a basic, out of the box Shiro environment up and running easily. However, with the lack of material and thin documentation, experiencing Shiro related conflicts or issues with other frameworks (like Wicket) are brutally difficult to resolve. My management team is pressuring me to step away from Shiro due to what they describe as a lack of supporting documentation and educational materials, which I find both frustrating and understandable.
In time, I believe Shiro has the capability to leap past the industry standard security frameworks. IMO, all technologies need at least one good comprehensive book. -Dave On Mon, Aug 19, 2013 at 4:21 AM, hans <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> wrote: versatec wrote > I am afraid there are no books about shiro ... Some publishing companies accept user requests for books. E.g. here: http://www.packtpub.com/title-idea-submission-form?utm_source=title_idea_submission&utm_medium=homepage_block&utm_campaign=new_title_ideas might be a good place to ask a book about Shiro, since they did very nice books in the past using exactly this recipe. regards -- View this message in context: http://shiro-user.582556.n2.nabble.com/help-need-a-good-book-or-a-guide-to-implementation-tp7579041p7579045.html Sent from the Shiro User mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
