You have to know that open source software provided by the Apache
Software Foundation are not mainly behind companies, it's about
individual contributor.
Spring/Jetty/Hibernate are by VMWare and IBM/RedHat, so they paid
employees to work on these projects.
At Shiro, we are not paid by our company to work on this.
But also you have several options, you can:
- pay some commercial support with companies that provided it for
Shiro to accelerate the development
- contribute to the project
- switch to another security library
Users are free to choose what fit their mindset.

François

Yes, I can use SNAPSHOT and without jitpack.io. And by the way, I
think I could do it and a year ago.
But it is not the solution of the problem. It it a try to avoid to
solve the problem. Look — shiro 1.x is half dead.
Shiro 2 can be released in 10 years, I am not sure, maybe not so soon.
Is Shiro project dead? Spring, Jetty, Hibernate and many many other
big projects moved to JPMS long time ago. Shiro still not.
Either release Shiro 2 alpha or I think we will have to look for
another security library.

Yes, it supports all that currently.
You can use jitpack.io <http://jitpack.io> immediately even
without Shiro releasing an alpha

Hello, Lenny,
Yes, if Shiro 2.0 alpha supports JPMS, jakarta namespace, web and
jaxrs. I am ready to update my code if you release it. It would
be even better.

Hi, Alex,
Would you be ok with using Shiro 2.0 alpha?
It has both Jakarta artifacts and JPMS compliant.
IMHO shro-all should have never existed.

nice to provide shiro-all-javadoc and shiro-all-sources for
it because it is very difficult to work without them.
