thank you very much.. yes, the book uses 1.1.. I can't find any book that uses later versions, no 1.1 download on Jakarta site.. this is all very puzzling and confusing.. and Wrox, unlike oreilly, there's no e-mail contact for the authors (the few times I have written to oreilly authors I have always gotten a response... oh well...)
