Mike,

Currently the latest 2.5 release of apache vcl does not work with Centos/RHEL 8
because the newer version of perl that is installed with those operating
systems, perl 5.26 is not compatible with the way vcl uses ENV variables.

I have committed changes to this branch of vcl
https://github.com/apache/vcl/tree/vcl-perl-5.26<https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fgithub.com%2Fapache%2Fvcl%2Ftree%2Fvcl-perl-5.26&data=05%7C01%7C%7C5d863a080f894409b12b08da3a859e26%7C58b3d54f16c942d3af081fcabd095666%7C1%7C0%7C637886642941264567%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C2000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=i8kB1mc3wnKefyxtQAA0KjlRAdLcs7z2qisboY35Vj8%3D&reserved=0>
that should fix the issue, but it has not been thoroughly tested yet.

Thanks,

I'm curious to know whether anyone is running the VCL management node on a
RHEL-8 system? Our current management node is RHEL-7, and I was wondering if
there was any experience out there with using a RHEL-8 system for the
management node. Does it work? Were there code modifications necessary? Any
particular issues?

Thanks.
