| Dear Josh,
there is a ticket related to OpenStack: and there is some code and config options in the latest release. For us OpenStack is a requirement as we do not have VMware infrastructure. We could contribute in testing config and code :)
We will investigate Rocky, Ubuntu and Windows 10. Any info on Debian support?
Best regards Emir Imamagic -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----Hash: SHA1Hi Emir,Thanks for asking. We are very mindful of the fact that we haven't gotten a release out in a really long time and are sorry we haven't been able to do that. There have been several factors that have kept delaying us. However, we do have plans to start really working toward a new release.I'm not aware of anyone actively doing development to maintain support for OpenStack. If anyone is working on this, please correct me!I know Ubuntu 22.04 and 20.04 work fine as long as you switch from netplan back to the old method of using /etc/network/interfaces [1]. I imagine 22.10 would also work. We do plan on supporting netplan in the next release.I'm pretty sure Rocky and AlmaLinux 8 and 9 both work without changes. If you try them and have trouble, post on this list and we'll help get them working. We'll definitely ensure they are supported in the next release. We're also planning on making sure vcld runs correctly on AlmaLinux to use as a base distro for management nodes.Windows 10 has been supported for a long time. I think Windows 11 works with just a few tweaks. Again, we plan to ensure both 10 and 11 are supported in the next release.I'm not sure when to say the next release will be out, but it will definitely take at least a few months.Josh[1] https://linuxconfig.org/how-to-switch-back-networking-to-etc-network-interfaces-on-ubuntu-22-04-jammy-jellyfish-linuxOn Friday, November 17, 2023 7:23:13 AM EST Emir Imamagic wrote:Hello,
could someone please comment on status of Apache VCL project?
The last release was back in 2019 - 2.5.1. The roadmap page
https://vcl.apache.org/dev/roadmap.html still indicates that versions
2.6 and 2.7 are planned. However, I see very little commits in github
https://github.com/apache/vcl/commits/develop.
As we are planning to migrate our VCL instance to new infrastructure we
are primary interested in the following topics:
- is OpenStack officially supported (especially OpenStack version Antelope)
- does VCL support latest versions of popular OSes such as:
- Debian 10, 11 and 12
- Ubuntu 22.10, 22.04, 20.04
- Rocky 8 and 9
- MS Windows 10 and 11
Thanks in advance
