I have an idea of what is causing this issue. Just out of curiosity, besides the ugly stack trace, is this issue associated with any unexpected behavior from zookeeper? The test is about dealing with an expired session, something like: - start a session - create a new ZooKeeper with the same sessionid and password and close it -> the session expires - close the session -> boom! I saw it only once, and I have upgraded my env to zookeeper 3.5.3-BETA 2 months ago It is a unit test so ZK server is running in the same JVM Anyway IMHO this is a bad error and the client should not ever crash in spite of weird server side behavior Do you think it is related to another reported issue ?
