Ok here is the problem - the script is combining the target block and the "-execute" switch into a single command line parameter (i.e. a single string token). My understanding was that this was a transient problem that occured while reworking scripts a couple of weeks ago. Can you make sure that the scripts in MERLIN_HOME/bin/* are right up to date? I know others are using current cvs and not experienceing this problem.
Cheers, Steve.
I had followed the cvs instructions prior to trying the tutorial. The only difference is that I added a soft-link to <...>/merlin/bin/merlin to my local <usr>/bin directory. The merlin.sh is listed as deprecated.
I just got done fooling around with the distribution images and was able to get things going with one important difference. the <...>/merlin/bin/merlin script in that directory produces anomalous results. I had to use the merlin.sh script in that directory. I haven't finished exploring the differences.
My next attempt will be to get the latest from CVS again (I recently killed it all to perform the experiments above) and rebuild. I'll then try to use the scripts from the distribution image in place of those in the CVS repository.
I'll post the results later today.
Niclas is the man in the know but he's sleeping like a baby just at the moment! Chances are that he'll be back in the world of the living in just a few hours time.
Cheers, Steve.
