I had trouble installing pyoobib, and communicated with the author, who indicated that he's somewhat frustrated with the state of the python bridge and isn't actively working on this project right now. However, he did give me some help with a similar problem; it's related to the install instruction "you may need to symlink the socket libraries". Robert Sanderson, the author, wrote: ----------- Under a freshly installed Redhat 9, I had to do: ln -s /usr/lib/libcrypto.so /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0 After that everything worked okay. To diagnose if anything else needs to be symlinked, start up python.sh in the program/ directory of OO and do: import re import socket and see what libraries it complains are missing. ------------- I did this and managed to install the package; but I couldn't get it to work, and in fact it just crashed OOo when I tried. So I doubt it's in good enough shape to actually use. But you should try it and see if you can make it work! good luck, Matt > > Thanks > > Julien > -------------------------- .''`.
