FYI, we're currently focused on working out some lower-level issues with
Sun (file format stuff, API, etc.). Our priority is to get that stuff
fixed, and to make it really easy for third-party reference mangers to
plug-in to OOo.
In other words, we really want to position OOo bib support to take
advantage of the trend toward networked reference management.
What that means for the integrated reference management support is still
to be decided, but it seems to me that the new Base support in OOo ought
to make it easier to do this sort of thing. Indeed, David and I have
been working on the side with a DB expert on seeing if we can come up
with a good SQL model should we need it. Will keep in mind your request
there.
