Hi Christian, I've used this workaround (i.e. paramaterizing the protocol to either 'http' or 'https') before and it worked fine for me too. Haven't looked at the underlying code, but it I imagine it works as you suggest.

However, we made a test using the HTTP protocoll instead of HTTPS and it works (including the http:conduit configuration). Did you expect this behavior or is it not reliable? Maybe CXF checks which protocol is used before the http:conduit is applied/executed?
