Hi,

I saw a previous thread
https://lists.apache.org/thread/gsforhq08x2b7v7xoyvx8cfbntc9vqll
regarding Camel SNMP and receiving SNMPv3 traps. That thread was
resolved stating the SNMPv3 security settings were only supported for
polling.

I also saw that https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CAMEL-19298
(Snmp: version 3 is not supported for several actions for the
component) was added to 3.21.0, and hoped that would include traps,
but it seems that is not the case. Is that correct? I can configure
the USM manually using the same settings I add to my route and the v3
trap is received/processed, but I get the below error when using the
route settings alone because none of the security settings are
configured.

ERROR MPv3 - RFC3412 ยง7.2.4 - Unsupported
security model: 3
2023

Should this work, and if not, are there any plans to add v3 trap support?

Thanks in advance.

Jim Ziesig
