Hello,

I am little confusing. Steps from documentation to start work with VPN:

http://docs.cloudstack.apache.org/projects/cloudstack-administration/en/4.3/networking_and_traffic.html#remote-access-vpn

1. Log in as a user or administrator to the CloudStack UI.
2. In the left navigation, click Network.
3. Click the name of the network you want to work with.
4. Click View IP Addresses.
5. Click one of the displayed IP address names.
6. Click the Enable VPN button.

But same time here is bugreport: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-238
So, looks, like VPN can be enabled ONLY on source-nat IP.
But same time in CS 4.3.0 there is NOT such option in source-nat IP, VPN can be enabled only to acquired IP's.

I will be pleased to anyone who will clarify how really should be.

Thanks.

Hello,

What is best way to debug VPN connection? And how VPN really work on CS?
I see that in VR ipsec service is running, but where I can check connection status? In /var/log/cloud.log and /var/log/messages is not much useful information.

Thanks.

Best to attempt first without NAT from Win7 first.

No, this is not the issue. We can not connect also from Windows.

I am using MAC OS Maverics, trying to setup standard VPN for L2TP.
Laptop is behind NAT, but PPTP to another host is working.

Do you think this is VPN CLIENT issue?

This is remote access VPN from a laptop (I.e., PPTP/L2TP/IPSEC). Ports are opened.
Is your laptop behind NAT? What OS (version?)

Subject: Cloudstack 4.3.0, Setup VPN but can not connect

Hi.

Anybody can tell why we can not connect to VPN. We just getting TIMED OUT and thats it. It seems that some firewall on cloudstack should be open. Maybe we need to open additional ports in FIREWALL so it works.

Any help is appreciated!
