Nitin,

Regarding detach volume, right now is working after I have manually attached
from vSphere, the only problem is that I can not migrate...

For me is also a good option to migrate manually from vSphere but not sure
how to update the cloudstack db with the new host location for the VM.

Thank you,
Cristian

Cristian,

Can you post your management server log.

Hello,

Yes, I have tested multiple times on multiple cloudstack with version
4.5.2 also 4.9.2 and I get the same error, I have also tried with
cloudstackops scripts, same issue but there I have only to migrate to other
cluster.

Also right now when I try to start the VM I get this : Unable to start a
VM due to concurrent operation

Thank you,
Cristian

Cristian,

Can you check your host and ssvm status.
Is the SSVM up?

Thanks,
Nitin

Hello Nitin,

This is why I have asked :

Failed to migration: com.cloud.exception.StorageUnavailableException:
Resource [StoragePool:2] is unreachable: Migrate volume failed: No remote
endpoint to send command, check if host or ssvm is down?

Also tested without attached DATA volume and I get same issue.

Cristian

Hi Cristian,

If you want to do a cold migration. (VM should be in stopped state) 1. Stop
the VM(In case it's running).
2. Start the VM.
3. Before starting, it will give you a list of hosts.
4. Choose a different host of the same cluster.
5. It would deploy the VM in the chosen host.

If you want to do a live migration. (VM should be in running state) (I
assume you are looking for this) 1. In UI, there is a button like a plus(+)
sign.
2. Post selection of that button, It would give you a list of suitable hosts
to migrate.
3. Select a different host of the same cluster, where you want to migrate.
4. Voila.. The VM would be migrated to that host without any downtime.

Note: The target host must have enough capacity available to deploy the VM,
else it would fail.

Sateesh, Correct me If I am wrong.

Thanks,
Nitin

Hello,

Is there a way to migrate a VM from a host to other host under the same
cluster? I have the following configuration, Cloudstack 4.5.2 configured
with basic network, local storage and VMware.

Thank you !
