Hi Alex, So, in my company we are 3 developers and I'm the only one using Flex and the two are backing up server/cms/etc.., this is mid-size company with a very lithe TI team, and the apps we make is for help selling company products.. so the company doesn't care what tech or framework is used, the important is that work and customers can buy products.. Also the company is so small on TI that we don't even have a QA team or even unit tests (no time and lazy).. (but makes good money to pay big time like 10x minimum country salary and that's the most important and I wont leave just because lacks on cool TI stuff). Besides that, I'm the responsible for software decisions, so, on the ccla I'm the "point contact" too. I assure no one on the company cares about source-code or where it came from. but...... is possibility like you said:
So, we want to do the investigations now so nobody has to worry about your > company coming back later to say, "hey, no, we think we own that code and > we don't want Apache and others to use it". So what can I do about that? I cannot say that for sure! because I've literally copied my code and pasted on company sources code (and I was freaking happy to see all that material stuff being used for real), and there is also no header on my files, so now the company can say "Hey this was made here! lets sue somebody!!".. so now what? Do I place an header on my files and start a new trunk so there is no evidences of that change? Thinking like this... am I in trouble? If other developer on the company checks my repo (lets say I'm no longer in the company) they can sue me? Hmm.. no they won't, and I also (just for courtesy) asked permission to publish it on github too.. and let me quote while we were on dinner: "Hey boss! Let's give the world this awesome material skins I made at home! this is so good and will help so many developers around the world! man.. we use their freaking sdk for free, let's give something back too! (also flex is kinda dying.. this could refresh some depressed developers). and He said: Sure! why not! do it! it's just a skin anyway"... but of course there is no papers of that ^^. So I'm confused now in being super serious and careful or being super cool and unstressed.. Maybe Its better for all to just leave it as it is.. who wants to use/tweak this skin can go to my repo and fork it or just copy/paste code, I really don't care! be happy and may save you all countless hours! Or do we proceed with all necessary stuff? Is this skin really desired by many developers? Would it really make a difference? I don't know.. If you tell me that I receive a commiter diploma to hang on my wall I'm all in! ^^ (joking).. I imagine my self doing a lot of AIR apps based on spark for some more years, but I really don't know how the vibes are going.. does spark still actively used? are developers using stage3d with starling/feathers? So you guys tell me, in the lights of this message about reality of my company and the way this code was made/used, if its worth the trouble or not. I mean.. all the hours on the skin it took me like 3 days tops! this is no big deal at all ;) (or maybe I'm too many years on spark too... lol) Good night and Flex FOREVER!! P.S - I'm hopping to see some day Stage3D projects being compiled to native+gpu for all platforms! this would really kicking ass! pls do it! 2016-11-10 0:15 GMT+00:00 Alex Harui [via Apache Flex Users] < ml-node+s2333346n14089...@n4.nabble.com>: > Hi Rui, > > Unfortunately, donating code to Apache can be really painful.
