I've had no trouble making that work. Typically, I can open any of my .odt/.ods/ ..., files in any of Microsoft Word, whatever version of OO.o/LO that is installed on the same machine, and WinZip using the context menu and "Open With ...". That is, the different ways I have opened an .odt in the past become added to the "Open With ..." menu. I've even had different version of OpenOffice.org in the context menu, but it is hard to tell them apart so I don't try that any longer.
I usually have to train "Open With ..." by going to the application the hard way (browse for it in Program Files) the first time, but it seems to remember after that. Remember not to check "make this the default" though. I currently am running in an administrator account on all of the places where I do this. I don't know if that is a factor in getting "Open With ..." to stick or not. - Dennis PS: I put WinZip on the context menu because I do document forensics work in checking interoperability problems and inspecting for how ODF is handled for particular cases. -----Original Message----- From: John B [mailto:jo...@email2.me] Sent: Friday, June 10, 2011 06:46 To: users@global.libreoffice.org Subject: [libreoffice-users] Windows "Open with" To open a selected Document with LibreOffice does anyone know how to make LibraOffice appear in the Windows "Open With" (and stay there). Even when I use the "browse" within the "open with" , then locate LibreOffice manually, it still does not work, as when I click on LibreOffice or Writer (applications), its ignored and the system jumps back to the browsing list. Also Libra Office does not appear in the recommended programs list, whilst OpenOffice does and works fine.
