Hi again :) The 3.4.1 is development branch for early adopters it might be worth installing the stable 3.3.3 alongside but it's not easy. This guide might help http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel
It might be a good idea to post a bug-report about it but there are probably already quite a few. This guide might help http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport If you right-click on one of the pictures you can change it's "anchor point" to about 6 different types, such as "as character" or "to page". MS Office doesn't have all those options. With some of the options you get a lot of flexibility on placing the picture. More flexibility than you can get with Word. Also the wrapping options seem to behave slightly differently. With DocX i've found the pictures often get thrown off to one side and piled on top of each other so that the ones underneath are not obvious. It's usually fine if there are only 1 or 2 pictures on a page but around 6 images seems to get troublesome. There doesn't seem to be any trouble if i stick with Odt and not much problem with Doc either but i am thinking about switching to using Draw rather than Word or Writer when i need a lot of images on a single page again. If you want other people to see the page exactly the way you want it to look then it's best to export to Pdf but it's not much good if you want them to be able to edit it. Often a good answer is to send a pdf version and an editable format alongside so that people can see what you were aiming for. It might be good to give them a link to download and install LibreOffice as people often do with Adobe Acrobat when sharing Pdfs. Hi everyone, I have a Writer question. I am using 3.4.1 on Vista, and I successfully opened a docx file containing text and photos. I did some minor text editing, then saved the document with a new filename but still as a docx. When I opened that file, the images had disappeared! Any ideas? It's not a disaster as I still have the original document, but I would like to be able to save images with docx!
