Works for me w/linux 3.3.4& 3.4.3 (same machine). Even changing views.
That said:
Tools> LibreOffice Writer> Formatting aid> check Paragraph ends
is on by default with my configurations. So perhaps that it the
trigger/issue?
Does the behaviour change when you check that off?
Do you happen to have custom changes in your key board settings (Tools >
Customise > Key board) ?
