A few other people on the lists at the time also said it was pretty awesome but 
i'm not sure if they had tried it on Vista.  They probably had as that seems to 
be the trickiest version of Windows at the moment.

Thanks for your advice.

I've tried various combinations of  uninstall, reboot and reinstall to 
no avail.

I can't even retreat to a previous viable version of L.O.

I've removed L.O. from my Windows laptop and re-installed MSoffice. I'm 
still happily running L.O. on my Ubuntu laptop.
