Translating non-native formats doesn't always go 100% perfectly.  If the 
presentation had been created in Impress (either OpenOffice or LibreOffice) 
then it would work better.  If you tried the presentation in a different 
version of MS Office, say in 2010 if created in 2007 then you would run into 
similar problems.  

Oddly if you tweak it in Impress and then save back in PowerPoint formats then 
it tends to work in whichever version of MS Office you are using.  It's best to 
stick with the native Odp format instead of .ppt or .pptX as the Odp format is 
used by more programs (KOffice/Caligra, IBM Lotus, google-docs and on and on).  

Errr attachments don't get through to the list but you could use the Nabble 
interface and upload things to Nabble so that we could all see them.

The attached presentation--which I received from a friend--seems to run 
better--without any setup--with PowerPoint than with Presentation. Any idea why?
