Hi :) Yes, ODF is the generic name covering all the different formats used by the different modules/applications/parts of LibreOffice. That becomes
Odt for word-processed documents because word-processing is traditionally mostly about formatted text Ods for spreadsheet Odp for presentations Fairly consistent with each other. That means, PowerPoint will run the slide presentation better than other programs. They have only limited ability to read PP's files. Impress uses ODF (open document format) as its native format. Similarly, MS has only developed limited ability to read this format. Consequently, a slide show created using Impress and the ODF native format runs better on Impress than it would on PowerPoint. --Dan -- For unsubscribe instructions e-mail to: users+h...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted -- For unsubscribe instructions e-mail to: users+h...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
