With the "record changes" feature turned on and the "show changes" feature enabled any changes made to a Writer document are clearly seen.
If the "show changes" feature is disabled the original document is displayed. The changes are not lost and the document with edits can be displayed by once again enabling the "show changes" feature. Is there a way to display the changed document, as if all edits are accepted, *without* accepting the changes?? IOW, "show changed document". If there is I haven't discovered it yet.
