Are you using Ubuntu or an "Ubuntu clone" such as Mint? (i've never thought it very fair to call such distros "clones" as they often feature tons of extras to suit some other need and Mint is definitely fully fledged even though it can still use the good stuff from Ubuntu). If you are on Windows then we might need to try something else to find a way around the problem.
