If all you want is a simple migration from PLPA to hwloc, then yes it is "fairly straightforward". But then, you don't get the advantage of using hwloc, all you get is the extra OSes support.
If you want to get the extra information about NUMA nodes, for example, then you will need to add extra code in execd & qmaster, and may be some client level code. -Ron --- On Wed, 3/16/11, Dave Love <d.l...@liverpool.ac.uk> wrote: I guess that it would be a fairly straightforward project for someone to try replacing PLPA with hwloc without needing to know much about GE internals. If anyone is interested, see http://www.open-mpi.org/projects/hwloc/doc/v1.1.1/switchfromplpa.php As well as helping with architectures like Magny-Cours, it would introduce support for more platforms than Linux and Solaris. _______________________________________________ users mailing list users@gridengine.org https://gridengine.org/mailman/listinfo/users _______________________________________________ users mailing list users@gridengine.org https://gridengine.org/mailman/listinfo/users
