Right. That's what I'd suggest, without knowing quite what you need to do. For what it's worth, I had a sometimes-working Python implementation of tracking jobs &c using qstat XML output for use in Jobmonarch <https://subtrac.sara.nl/oss/jobmonarch>, but SGE changes kept breaking it. I could probably revive it for the post-6.2u5 code, but I think it's more reliable to grovel the normal output than to use the XML. An useful API is important. Unless Univa already have plans, it would be useful to collect information about what to copy/avoid from LSF, PBS, OAR &c in an implementation. I noted it as an RFE at https://arc.liv.ac.uk/trac/SGE/ticket/835.
