Hi Mike. Thanks for the reply. I killed all httpd's and rebooted the box. Everything came up just fine. What it was, no clue. Anyway, everything seems to be working now.
As per that article, sniffing the file that calls the daemon is one thing. Just killing out the dead processes is fine with me.
