the modems.conf file does not have an ericson_t28 setup, but it does
have an ericson_t68 setup, which I don't think can be far off. try to
use that configuration and see if you can send and receive SMs.
But your setup and logs look ok - it seems that your modem is ready to
send and receive, even if I don't like your CNMI setting - I would
suggest you look it up in your manual again and check the examples in
modems.conf.
To send messages you need to call the smsbox with the sendsms interface
in any of the supported methods (GET, POST and recently XML-RPC). to
receive messages you'll need to setup some sort of sms-service section
in your configuration.
