We used to have the same problem with a comverse SMSC. We never resolved the
issue with the operator, we simply fixed it in the application.

I have two connections on different sms-c one is an alcatel and another one
is a comverse I use the same TON settings on both connections but it work on
the alcatel one, I gat messages (MT) from 1234 but on the comverse one MT
are coming from +1234 I try to play with the ton settings it doest work I
think I should talk to the guys owning the sms-c in order to resolve it. Or
have anyone got the same problem and maybe resolved it by changing something
into kannel?

but you might need international TON,

anyway it seems you must edit the code to remove this annoying "feature", it
served no purpose

for us.

For smpp case, look for code in smsc_smpp.c,

convert_addr_from_pdu,

....

octstr_insert_char(addr, 0, '+');

etc,etc...there is more

although this '+' char is just a figment of representation on kannels user
service side, its not actually set/sent on

the SMSC side,

Eg, if the destination addr starts with a '+', the smsc_smpp driver sets the
destination TON to 1 (International),

it inserts the '+' when receiving a delivered msg.

Set your

DESTADDRTON = 8

DESTADDRNPI  = 2

If this doesn't work, or your unable to connect to the SMSC, you may need to
speak with the SMSC guys.

than having +1234 I want to have 1234 when delivered on the phone.

thanks
