It is because your modem does not support the AT+CNMI=1,2,0,1,0 command.

Either check with your modem vendor the allowed values for the command
or try with another values.

As for the going auto, it is because you modem identifes itself as
"F3607gw" and there is no definition for such modem in your config.
You can just copy an entry for another modem with that string as its
detect-string. Then change other settings according to your modems.
