Greetings all! So, I'm having some issues trying to use Chirp to program a couple of new AR152s.
I did a factory reset on the new ones and downloaded everything, setting the radio type as a UV-5R. Then, I copied the frequency plan from another AR-152 that I had done a year or two ago successfully over the default frequency plan. THen I'd go through each section on the Settings tab and change the setting on the new one to match the old one. Have to be honest, I don't know what some of those are, and I've never been able to find a decent explanation for dummies type of thing... so many of them I just leave as what it was originally on the first radio. While everything worked fine with the original radios I set up a year or two ago, I can't get a couple of areas to program the way I want them to. WORK MODE SETTINGS... MR A Channel... I set it to "1", but it stays at "127" after I upload to radio. Interestingly enough, when I turn the radio on, it actually shows channel 1. MR B Channel... I set it to "23", but it stays at "127" after I upload to radio. Interestingly enough, when I turn the radio on, it also shows channel 1. OTHER SETTINGS... This one is weird. The other day when I first tried these new radios, I could not get Power-On Message 1 and Power-On Message 2 to program, but just now it did for some reason. Anyway, the inability to have it go to the proper channels on power on is bugging the heck out of me. Anyone have any ideas?
