Sorry, not the same context.   Giving an app a directory to use does not allow the app to delete data it didn't create.

If you give an application a cache directory to use, you most definitely should consider anything in that directory unimportant. You are giving it full control to do whatever it wants in that directory unless there are clear definitions of what it will do.
