I had, for a long time, used an extension
             Cookie AutoDelete
             by CAD Team
             no warning
             many users
but it had no updates since 2022.
It has some issues with container tabs so I searched for a replacement.

    I see another one
             Cookie AutoDelete
             by cookie-autodelete
Note: This add-on is not actively monitored for security by
Mozilla. Make sure you trust it before installing.
             no users listed
    which was updated recently.

Both are found when searching in Firefox.

Which one is recommended today? Are they both safe? Is the latter related
to (an update of) the former?

Is auto deleting cookies still relevant?  Firefox has added better support for
deleting cookies and other site data:
<https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/clear-cookies-and-site-data-firefox>>

The above link is not "auto" at all, but requires manual actions.
The extension will delete when the tab is closed while the window is kept open
for a log time.
