   disable it under "Edit > Preferences > Shortcuts".
No, it seems highly improbable that I would ever hit that key combination by accident. I did check to see that that does indeed bring up additional terminal tabs. I have not yet determined what I did to bring up unwanted extra tabs so for the present it is not a problem.
