Another FYI for those who may be trying to get icebreaker running on DHCP: Before you can get the database up and running, you must first change the hostname from localhost.localdomain to something other then localhost. You can do this through the web interface mentioned below in the section:
Configuration --> Configure Networking

For example, I changed the "Host Name" field from "localhost.localdomain" to "icebeta.myhome.com" and removed the DNS Search domain, Clicked OK, and did a restart. This ultimately changes (at least) the /etc/hosts file entry for 127.0.0.1 to:
127.0.0.1 icebeta.myhome.com localhost.localdomain icebeta localhost

Have fun!

Mike Sale

I forgot some stuff: the web interface is accessible from the following URL :
https://your_IP_address:8003

You must then accept the certificate and log with the user admin and use the password password.

If you do not have the licence key (in Beta 1), you can not go forward. In a past private conf call with Ingres staff (and in the Beta 2 doc) they explain the licence key (also named entitlement key) permit to gain the automatic updates. I suppose then if you need to upgrade your database you must use the manual installation of the free Ingres2006 (or later) version ...

Yes, you can schedule the following :
- system reboot
- system update (rpath & ingres)

Then you choose if you apply the update manualy or automaticaly.

But nothing to schedule checkpoints and so on. You can run a checkpoint from the web interface but it is not the best way (what happend if you close your browser ?) and I think the web interface to some Ingres stuff is just a proposal "has it" (it is not a web version of Visual DBA for example).

Is there a web-frontend that helps you to schedule reorgs, checkpoints
and things like that?
