Sorry I was not clear, Thomas.

I installed VS2010. I did not install VS2010 Integrated Shell. After
installing VS2010, I installed IronPython 2.7a1. 

When I look under the Tools menu, I see an item named "IronPython
Tools." I'm uncertain what difference you would expect to see using
VS2010 Integrated Shell.

I'm not sure what you mean by "for free".  I've tried starting VS 2010
Shell and looking for the solution / project types.  They aren't in
there.  Did you do anything to install the plug-in?  Where is the
plug-in located on your system?
