I imagine it should be pretty straightforward - just a case of replacing
the rootfs and dropping in the original /lib/modules and /lib/firmware
and the original /boot partition. Depending on how root= parameter is
set you may need to change it (e.g. if the rootfs is specified using
uuid rather than device).
