Hi, I had the same problem after upgrading, you need to add this to your configuration and the error about your server "does not support authentication" is misleading
$config['smtp_conn_options'] = array(
'ssl' => array(
'verify_peer' => true,
'verify_depth' => 3,
'cafile' => '/etc/pki/tls/certs/cafile.crt',
),
);
