If it worked before and now it doesn't it's probably not Maven's fault. I find it very unlikely that Maven just stopped working. Maven is quirky but I'm willing to bet the problem is on your end as it is most of time when people blame the tools they use. If I got a nickel for every time someone said "we didn't touch anything!" when they actually did I would be a very rich man.
We have the following "quote" on our white board:
"I didn't change anything... Besides, I changed it all back!"
It's something that one of our team members actually said. :-)
