Hi, I have been using Maven for some time, particularly with Spring Web Applications with AspectJ. Frankly I know some developers, even some of mine still prefer Ant, but that's another story.
I am writing because I want to explore another use case for Maven. I want to actually deploy Maven with its own local repository with Web Applications that are running as Software as a Service. The concept is pretty simple, deploy a web application let's call it "MySaaS", then when an upgrade happens the administrator logs into MySaaS/admin and uploads a new pom.xml and executes a mvn install, where maven compiles, tests and deploys the upgrade with absolute minimum down time for the application. Has anyone done anything like this? Is this a good idea? Am I crazy? Michael Oliver CTO, Corent Technology Inc. <http://www.corenttechnology.com> Mobile: +63-917-557-0990 *New!
