Hi,

Even when I use the Refresh Settings option, Eclipse still tries to connect to 
the Internet Maven Repo instead of the mirror I defined in my maven 
settings.xml file.

Hi,

did you refresh the settings in eclipse?
It has to be done under
Window->Preferences->Maven->Refresh Settings.
