Is it possible to do mmbase hosting where there is only 1 mmbase running, but
with different sites having different configuration and different builders?

this because i believe running 10 mmbase's separated from each other on the
same server put a huge load on the system.
This is bases on practice: our develop, staging & production-server now run
about 5 separated mmbase instances and all have a cpu-load of 2.5, which is
quite high. top-processes are postgres & mmbase (mainly postgres).
For example: there are many query's executes when there are no visitors, like
"update mmservers". these can be reduced by only having 1 mmbase instance.

Do other people have any experience / documenation on performance/load of
mmbase?

ps: ofcourse all tables have indexes.
