yep vacuumdb is *very* crucial with any postgresdb I've learned from experience :) If you have very busy tables you sometimes have to run it as often as once an hour...

If your server has lots of memory you can host quite a few diffrent mmbase+jvm instances... we have one server with about 15 mmbase instances and a load not bigger than 1.
