I installed tomcat 4.1.27(1.4 version) and downloaded the 1.4 binairy of MMBase (http://www.mmbase.org/download/builds/occasional/20030814.1.6.4.rc1.jdk14)
This was already in a webapp format so i simply copied it in the webapps directory. (i want to get midas working with the mmci)

When i installed this version, the xml parser didnt work. The error that i got was a propery not set exception(more detail available if needed).
Removing the jar that is resonsible for the xml-handling solved the problem of this. But it leads to the problem that i cannot import any application, since i get an other xml-parser error. Also there are far to much jar's in the distro for binairy usage(like jai, and other stuff).
My question is:
1) Are these problems fixed in the current 1.7?
2) Are there any changes that i have to make on the application
server? (tomcat), and which changes do i have to make on MMBase?

(may be it needed to make source and binairy releases? (maybe
the binairy releases applicationserver specific?) )

Personally, i'd like to download a binairy distibution of MMBase, place it in a directory underneat the application-web-root, configure the database inside the application server and everything should work.
