if u want to use SM or sth instead of build in "SM-like" mechanizm - go for it...
but i think that having one complete integrated package of tools would be great...

One of the primary benefits of SiteMesh is that it's NOT tied to any other page building technology. IMHO, it really really *should not* be implemented in JSF.
