Thanks for the response, (jenia looks interesting) but my current problem space is more basic. I'm mainly concerned with the mechanics of opening a 'new' browser window. Once the window is open it is largely independent - in the sense that it no longer needs to communicate with the 'desktop' page. Analogous to opening eclipse from a desktop.

about multiple windows interfering with each other in a server saved
