Obviously I was not clear enough either! ;-) I'm also talking about Java SE. The problem affecting NetBeans was introduced by a security update in mid-Oct in JDK 8u231, 11.0.5 and 13.0.1. All of those should be broken in the same way with NetBeans 11.0 or 11.1 without applying the workaround. The workaround *just* made it into 11.2.
