No. Now that you mention it, the value doesn't seem reasonable to me either. So, I changed it to /usr/lib/jvm/java-14-openjdk-amd64 and the problems go away. Thanks Geertjan - hopefully that's the end of that.
I'm sure I just downloaded and installed NetBeans without thinking too hard, so I don't know how that could have been set.
