Hi Neil. I have both OpenJDK 11 and 17 in my laptop and NetBeans works fine with both.
Here are the details from the About window: Product Version: Apache NetBeans IDE 15 Java: 11.0.17; OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM 11.0.17+8-post-Debian-2 Runtime: OpenJDK Runtime Environment 11.0.17+8-post-Debian-2 System: Linux version 6.0.0-3-amd64 running on amd64; UTF-8; en_US (nb) User directory: /home/paolo/.netbeans/15 Cache directory: /home/paolo/.cache/netbeans/15 Product Version: Apache NetBeans IDE 15 Java: 17.0.5; OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM 17.0.5+8-Debian-2 Runtime: OpenJDK Runtime Environment 17.0.5+8-Debian-2 System: Linux version 6.0.0-3-amd64 running on amd64; UTF-8; en_US (nb) User directory: /home/paolo/.netbeans/15 Cache directory: /home/paolo/.cache/netbeans/15 I can try to install the Linux (x86_64) deb again if you want me to check if the black background in the selected editor tab persists even if I switch to OpenJDK 11 and 17, or I can install more JDKs and test with those as well.
